January month 1 of 12 months in 2026 finances

I've got to make it work. See if I can somehow manage costs with investments. I've been cutting costs since 2011, living in an efficiency for 6 years for example, which wasn't too bad. But I think small spaces have an affect that somehow causes grief in life. I've seen digital nomads track spending and earnings and seems more fun if blogged.

Now, using these reports, I clearly see, that my total Debt, is matching the amount of my unrealized gains. While relocating to England, my costs are peaking again.

total Debt == 19,864.05

total unrealized Gains == 19,245.00

After making this credit card payments Report, one key take away, is that switching between paying MINIMUM due versus paying STATEMENT balance seems to be a feature that some tool should automate. And perhaps a way to dashboard all my credit cards. CardPointers does this, but it's for dashboarding forward-thinking purchases, to max points.

Stock picks - I'm trying to buy more of these but they keep rising far above these prices, as of late January 2026.

I used to track various stock metrics by screen scraping tools and my own SQL database. That was around 2009. These days, in 2025 and 2026, I prefer to use StockAnalysis.com and look for Gross Profit margin, Operating Margin and Profit Margin.

Remember:
Operating Margin - is like - is the company/human sleeping/eating and overall healthy
Profit Margin - is like - the company/human with all it's clothes on, taxes, any weird law suits, any weird asset holdings that are not it core products.

Happy investing. What do you think about these picks?
I will see if I can continue this each month. How do you look at your finances? How often?

Other notes

META
market cap Jan 27, 2026 == 1.693T, before earnings.
evening just after earnings == 1.686T.
A full complete 2 days after earnings release = 1.808T

AAPL

47.33, 32.38, 27.04 == a full 48 hours after earnings

I'd like to get an idea of how much Op/Profit Margin are updated based on earnings. I believe it actually is an estimate, until the ANNUAL Net income report comes. Generally, I'd like to know how often the big stocks can report actual Operating and Profit Margins. They seem to change based on earnings, just a bit. What do you think?

Confusions:
MSFT Jan 28 after market close == earnings report beat Revenue and EPS, but stock dips down in price.
NVDA Feb 25 after market close == earnings report beat Revenue and EPS, but stock dips down in price.

Reflection: One difficulty, despite, details with these investing numbers, sales of stocks, limit orders buying into a stock, some sales. One difficulty, is knowing some kind of "rate" of gains from investing. And how does this rate exceed spending. These monthly reports do help, because I've been doing them for 2 years. The difficulty is to know, is this month really good or really bad. For example, TPL has shot up, but overall, my MSFT, AAPL, and GOOG all went down from what they were in Late January. I do know that I've managed to grow the savings I have since 2019. despite some really bad stock choices, I remember 2020/2021 buy some really strange stocks. Maybe there is a way I can snapshot money numbers better. But at same time, I think this I've gotten as detailed as I can get. I think I need to just memorize these numbers more, in my own head. This must be the main "trick" to investing. The next trick, is to not read news articles, perhaps. Only reading earnings releases. And never buy recommendations from peripheral "strategy" websites. Because, good lucky or not, other peoples' picks are diluting your own strategy effectiveness. Which constantly needs to change. And changing your favorite external platform, is not effective. And those strategists who say invest in Gold, but don't actually say what ticker symbol, is frustrating. Sometimes, it needs to change by getting simpler. Sometimes it needs to change by being smarter. The past month, I'm not familiar with a bunch of new stocks. they've all grown, but my holdings in them are somewhat small. I suppose I need a 6month or 12 month report as well. And this is why I think I want to invest in a house. Unless I really know my career. Currently, I don't really think I have any real career skills. Also, I don't think I have the confidence/stake in the game/camaraderie in getting/being effective in a city/retail/public life stable job. If I have stability in a property, a stable location, where My costs are really stable for years and years, I can better assess my investing income stability.

The reason for this 1
: If I want to buy a property, I think I will just go with what ever property appears when stocks spike up. Maximize cash by selling "highest" point for me in 2026. Which may not be till the holiday season of 2026/Jan2027. For some reason, I'm very leery of buying a property the traditional slow way working with agents and being funneled into a typical buyer route. I'm an outsider, anywhere in England is good for me I think. I'm single man, any neighbor is ok with me.

The reason for this 2: It appears I should have just bought a house in late January when my savings were 8000 higher than they are now.

The reason for this 3: I have a bit more wisdom, but at age 48, and all the strangeness of life, and my life path, especially the past 6 years, I'm really wondering what is my wisdom. Seems to be engulfed and have dozens of life paths waiting to engulf me even more. Maybe I just need to fire more and less aiming.

The reason for this 4: I dislike rent.

Mike's investing and accounting principles, queue the Sad but True Metallica Song.
1. Must memorize your favorite stocks.
2. Must have ALL debts with expiry/due dates written out by hand each month
3. Almost zero reading news articles that come out every day.
4. No externally "found/recommended" picks, unless the person specifically mentions the ticker symbol in real conversation, or real message. Or, it's ok, if you've gotten used to their rhythm of "picks."

5. Every year or once definitely every 5 years, sell 80% and cash out during any peak. And definitely 50%. Particularly in Dec or January. Especially when 3 years of peaks occur in a row. Especially when a war continues for 6+ months. Timing the market is the only tool an individual has, but sometimes a big reset (sell, wait 1 month or 6 months, buy again) using 3 or 4 peaks, as the indicator, in a row, timing may be useful

For some reason in 2025, I compared DELL with WMT because they had similar prices around 115.00 And decided to stay with WMT. I had only 1 Dell quantity, but many WMT. This was mistake. DELL, INTC and USA chip makers are booming.
Still tracking ORCL gains to then trade the same money into BX. but because ORCL spiked up around May 29, it hit my limit orders of 208 and 219, so I sold my position. I thought it would spike before earnings, June10 and it spiked up to 225, so it met my plans. This is an experiment to see if I can turn 2600 into 4000 by August. This is in a separate account where trades are not taxed, called an IRA, individual retirement account. But I accidentally sold First-in-first-out, so technically I still have that 2600 same position in ORCL. The 2600 I sold was ORCL I bought almost 5 years ago. I generally think ORCL is a company that only pays it employees, not investors, but just a hunch, until possibly recently. I like Databases, they are always the kings in any software meeting room, In my opinion, but ORCL is not a money maker like other stocks in software server spaces and they have a lot of debt. I think they will have a few more dip downs to encourage buying, raising money for ORCL.
I switched my OnePay credit card rounds up from UMC to NXE stock.
I haven't bought new shoes yet, because my Nike.com gift card only works in USA, so I might consider Asics and/or Nike.
Started walking around to see properties from the outside.
went to gym 12 times
went to TaiChi FalunGong 4 times
I painted using Krita and HUION tablet about 20 times
For some reason, the same day I opened my paper mail to get my Driver license, two different bus trips, two different bus drivers called me back saying my bus tap payment card didn't read, even though the tapper was green and I had been using the bus for 3 months without a bus driver calling about the tapper, after I had already started walking to a seat. Very strange coincidence.
I completed 8 Simplified Chinese lessons
I cleaned the kitchen and oven
I studied software chip making companies with Gemini and made these groupings
I'm a bit concerned about physical AI making stocks go even higher. I'm concerned because it is like buying DELL, INTC, and MU at a peak. And I bought metals at their peaks (late January), or just before peaking in middle of January and those gains have reduced.
I'm considering grouping a bulk money, in and out of trades, more, instead of buying and holding for a year. Currently I just sell a few and buy 1 or 2 or something else.
META - I thought it would keep climbing into 1000 and then split, but it's stayed at 600 for past year.
GOOG, AAPL, TSLA, seem better than MSFT, META.
Nuclear might be farther off than I speculate
I made 2 new Balance Transfers BT to some existing credit cards that had 0 interest promotions.
I've started to contemplate being halfway through 2026
MyPayr.co.uk seems successful for paying rent to earn AA airline miles or delay cash flow 30 days. It does not charge "cash advance" fees and it's very fast within a day the payment arrives. It's great. First test payment of 50.00 GBP is a "purchase" on my MASTERCARD statement. Waiting for next statement to confirm the larger amount. And just switch to MyPayr to a VISA for June.
I bought Twinings tea
I cooked hamburgers served with Branston Piccalilli for a relish-like topping. It appears it's not fermented, which I try and get some fermented foods in.
I bought Kefir for health and smoked salmon
I started using Revolut, but it appears, to get 3% interest, I have to move the money to a "savings" type of Revolut account.
I have started studying for a UK driver license, theory test.

Stock picks - I have low limit orders for these

Software server utility
CEG

Software chip making - I need to buy at least one
INTC
AVGO
DY
MU
TSM
SSNLF
TSLA

Nuclear
NEE
UUUU
NXE

Bitcoin related
WULF

Other, mining, land
HOOD
FSM
TPL - it went high then went down, I may buy 1 or 2 more
FABC
KOPN
PL - a stock that keeps growing steadily, even though it has negative operating margins, per StockAnalysis.com.

May 31, 2026. Total unrealized Gains == 42800 - 2233 == 40567

total Debt == 28480

Events
This month was about saving and not going out much
I got Hay Fever nose dripping allergy 2 times
This April, May and June, I think I spent a lot of time on stock investing and watching.
I spent a lot of time identifying my stocks into these categories: the Hyperscalers, software chip makers, Internet cabling/optical, Nuclear related to data centers, physical Ai/driving/warehouse, edge computing leaders, model evaluation and software monitoring/digital twin stocks, utility grid/land and metals related to data centers and then bitcoin data centers, and quantum computing. Using Google Gemeni Ai.
I have the biggest watch list on my phone than ever before.
StockAnalysis.com, Statistics
Net cash per share shows how much net cash is owned by each outstanding stock.
StockAnalysis.com, click Financials, Balance sheet
Net Cash (Debt) on balance sheet shows if they are in debt or sitting on cash.
For example, ORCL is still in debt.
For example, INTC is still in debt.
For example, MU just got out of debt in 2026, after 5 years in debt.
I watched MU, INTC, ORCL a lot, to get used to their prices
I'm trying to make more profits
I sold about 5 METAs in ROTH/IRA accounts. I thought META was going to split in 2025/2026. I thought META was going to be the ultimate entrepreneur tool, meetup.com-like, travel assistance/validation, photo storage company.
This June month was all about health, stretching, eating, and stocks
I bought great shoes, Nike Vomero 18, really happy with them
I saw 2 property viewings with an agent, one had consistent damp through one side both floors.
I saw a property get auctions for perhaps 62000, 3 bdrm end terrace freehold in NE6 Newcastle.
I tried buying FSM for a quick gain, failed.
I tried buying BB for for a quick gain succeeded
I started looking for employment
I passed Driver theory exam and will be scheduling driver road instructions and exam.
I went to gym per plan, 13 times, 11 hours total. I started walking to gym.
I ate beef burgers for routine quality meals mid week.
I stretched a lot and can now touch just past my toes.
Paid off a big portion of BankofAmerica credit card.
I published some original music on Youtube from 2020 writings
I used Meetup.com a lot for fun, networking and language.
I started an animated gif Xara project using my 100 days gesture drawing challenge.

Plans
Buy TSLA 370 and sell at 430 before next TSLA earnings July 22? then buy Micron MU, MRVL, TPL at 840, 220 and 370 sometimes before Aug 15.
I may have just missed Tesla on June 29 decline in price to buy opportunity, because my limit order was 340, but I got the lucky idea right.
Keep watching ORCL for July 10 ex-dividend price decline opportunity to buy.
I'm watching BX still, but I generally don't like banks. I consider them a bank. MPLX might be a better dividend.
I still think, a lot of people selling Metals, gold, the past few months, made the price go higher and even higher in Jan-Feb 2026 because of some hunch. Like if there is popular trend in the market somehow, for a short period, the market likes to punish sellers who sell on hype or some swarm of sells complete. But I think this swarm for selling Metal was bigger than I thought. I expected Metals to stay high, because of all the precious metals used in chips, satellites, batteries, and utility generation coatings. But that theory only made sense till April. Metals seem to be really correcting in slow price declines to encourage more buying. Or the price run-up was caused by something else. Can a price run up be caused by hype? However, I think metals will not decline further from after July. Because that price surge must have had a reason, to show stock investors that Metals can get "back" to that high.
Try to buy and sell with the same 4000 dollars in IRA account.

Watch BB for a new jump if it goes to 16, it prob will keep climbing higher to 20 or 30, otherwise it's just going to peak at 12.70 stay then stay at 10 for another year, is my hunch. I just like BB, but a Canadian tech I cannot see exploding like INTC or MU.
Try to buy DDOG on some crazy time if price sinks to 190.00
Buy MU at 890 or 990.
Keep using StockAnalysis.com to grade stocks by Gross/Operating/Profit Margins.
For example MU has 72, 65 and 55 margins. For every 1 spent, MU makes 0.55 cents.
TPL has 93, 74, 60 gross/op/profit margins.
PL is the lucky stock guess to buy at 28-34 range and to go up to 60 and 70 by year end.

July 2026

Living off of credit cards, Runway concept, or stoozing.

Credit rant: Credit cards and the website need the plain language and better labeling. every card should clearly says it's name. And names should not be vague like "unlimited cash rewards VISA signature." Unlimited cash rewards just creates anxiety and is a property of the cc. And what is Signature have to do with anything? The name should be better and really tie into these mechanisms: https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/about-us/information/staircase/ like a credit card should be part of a little 'family' connected to 2 or 4 other cards. one is the ground card. 2nd card is your first balance transfer card with 0%, waiting to capture any debt you desire to manage for a year. The 2nd step is the 2nd card. 3rd step is some international card with all kinds of rental car insurance and 0 foreign fees. And each of these card families exist. And the properties of a card on the website are always there, foreign fees. Opened date, APR, credit limit. 0% promotion expiry. And no "cashback" rewards webpages with tons of thumbnails for stores I never use. And no more separating into months. just one 1 year of spend, payment dates, monthly payback dates. billing cycle date, I get it, but the Card-Family should only specify statement closing dates that map to longer term things. Like the whole point of a 3 Card-family-step is to finish it well. Dates along the way help, but really, the card website should always map to some 1 or 3 year plan, how much runway each card has, or how full a card is. And then all the card data could be connected, like exporting bookmarks of a browser, to some income strategy, to stocks. And there needs to be simpler website "claims", to use Quidco, Rakuten, Lolli iHerb, (After purchase, who remember before?) when making online orders, because I forgot 3 times to use Quidco, rakuten and Lolli this month, missed 5% cashback. Maybe the names should be BofA VISA year 2026-2027 $8000 limit, daily spender, 16 monther-minimum payments till July 01, 2027 finish-line pay off. That automatically links to Rakuten, Quidco, Lolli. Barclays year 2026-2027 10000 limit rental payments to MyPayr BA air miles that has NO finish line pay off monthly. Lloyds ISA long term 2030 grow ISA from 6000 to 10000 by 2030 finish-line with auto-limit orders. Literally a giant long name. One-time-big-tax-payment Nationwide credit card finish line 2027. Walmart's OnePay is pretty much acting like a real tool, instead of a bunch of website widget that just have 50 links little section of the website. Literally, credit websites have 500 links on every section of page. Maybe one website block should be, all the card properties with several one-liners in a list. And get duplicate "points" to also be in plain cash or cents units. It's very hard to find on a website if a card has 0% foreign fees. "foreign fee" search, "We couldn't find anything related to your search." And I've never ever used the word "Concierge" regarding Card benefits. And every credit card website is entirely different. And "statement closing dates" sometimes change. March it'll be the 18th. April the 17th, then 2 months in a row it'll be the 16th. IF I'm trying to pay off IRS.gov spread around, relying on the 16th closing date per "most recent statement", I risk the change of putting 2 1000 irs.gov payments on the same cycle month. Credit cards are tools, not bank accounts or website game clicking on thumbnails of beaches. But credit cards have gotten better with these Payment plan features and website reliability. End Credit Card rant. Every Credit card should have a website section, that outputs a little JSON file, showing all properties in a txt copy paste format. Then I can manage tools, credit-cards-tools, like the Voltron of credit cards. scroll them all in one text file. This should also save session duration, throughput, server time and call center time.

I exercised my financial muscle, like Rich Dad & Poor Dad mentions. But is categorizing data center stocks and speculating more of the same picks exercising financial muscle? I think so, if the goal is income. Or is learning how to make choices that lead to assets, networks and people skills. Learning to speak better, learning to think better. Or simple math intuition: scope stock picks to about 60, put all 60 into a Yahoo portfolio for qty 1 and put July 29 2025 in the name of yahoo portfolio. Then, pick a top 3, and pick another top 7 stocks. Set limits orders to buy low, or buy in chunks and cycle in and out. Then, also, keep looking at the magnificent 7. And each month pick a butterfly or 'trade' plan. Butterfly means, pick 4 stocks, your 2 most important favorites. Check stockAnalysis.com for gross/operating/profit margins must be above 9%, or can be explained why they are not making profit. And buy as much as you can in stock1, and set an expected price target, to sell, then trade and use those same funds to buy stock2, the right wing of butterfly. And stock3 and stock4 are the smaller left and right butterfly wings, for what you "should have done" picks, or 3rd and 4th guess, or your long and steady repeat buys. The mind and thoughts are most important, according to Rich Dad.

Butterfly example 1
INTC - buy it sometime at low in July at 98 and sell it at high in July, at 108. INTC is the big left wing, starting point. It's also forcing you to, can you buy and sell within a month. Then 'trade' into ORCL buy buying ORCL at anytime in the future. But if you picked ORCL as your stock2, there's probably a reason and is good to buy within this near timeframe, just like INTC, but ORCL within the next 8 weeks or right after selling INTC. Then let butterfly fly long term, based on the right wing.
MPLX and AMZN are the stock3 and stock4, small left right butterfly wings. Either decide to buy ORCL, or buy the ongoing harvesting strategy of AMZN if it's at a low for the year. You might put AMZN on all of your butterflies at stock4, for the year, or each month when you make a new butterfly. MPLX is stable 'guess', for good dividend, in case you just have no 'sense' for AMZN, ORCL or INTC working out this month. Then these butterflies should help gains, get familiar with major stock stalls, by creating and considering a butterfly every month, and help beat mutual funds investing. And guarantee you won't ignore your stock money for 3 years in a row, which can happen at various times in life, age 25 or 48 or 74.

I went to a local gym and pool, but the reception is busy with checkins to explain what it really costs and what times you can swim. I took photos of their laminated poster, but still don't understand what "swim for fitness" and what the blocks mean on the weekly diagram, for designated times, and options for just swimming, or combining the gym cost. BetterHelp website very confusing, from a Business Analysis user stakeholder point of view.
I completed a 2 hour driving lesson and have more to do.
I used Krita to draw using reference of photos or improv line sketches.
I went to the gym 3x per week.
I tried buying a bunch of INTC Intel stock, and it almost worked, but I ended up losing about 300. If I waited a day or 2 I could have sold at 104 instead of 99 using pre-earnings call speculation that stock would rise one more time before July 23.
I didn't really buy anything, except let several limit orders buy 1 of various stocks I've been watching in retirement accounts. Selling META, WMT.
My direct stock current account I only bought a few NXE and NVDA of 1 qty under 200.
I also verified that AMZN Amazon stock had almost no gains from 2021 till 2024. This was a giant mistake in my ROTH retirement account. Also, currently Oracle ORCL stock price is almost what is was 5 years ago. This is exactly why I prefer direct stocks rather than mutual funds. I can actually know what stalls the investing gains and apply this 1.5 to 3 year metric to specific major stocks.
I give myself some credit for selling some stocks during this May and June stock price peak.
I give myself a minus for not noticing the data center stocks and chip making stocks earlier.
I worked on some Ai business prototype for side money, involving Chinese character reading and 'stoozing.'
I read some blogs about people's travel
I checked meetup and OddFellow for activities
I started more home based leg exercises
I bought a used Ninja Air fryer dual pressure cooker
I walked by 2 properties
I backed up photos.
I can pretty much confirm, after age 48 or so, maybe even earlier not drinking milk or reducing milk and cheese helps take better No 2. less IBS, less gluten allergy related issues. After 4 months like this. Or possibly just add magnesium supplement.
This month was like June, reducing daily spending. Less bus taking.
Overall, this month was quite time consuming in regards to finances. There were a lot of earnings releases by stocks I own or want to buy. My stock strategy for quick gains using INTC didn't pan out, lost about 600, and I delayed paying off USA taxes this month, each month I like to pay 1000. All my metal stocks are down and a few data center stocks are not keeping their climbs in price. I "had" to watch a several of my stocks, for selling, because cash was low. Also because I think I need better stocks. But I knew my cash was getting low and planned for summer stocks to reach "summer" lows. I didn't really get to take advantage of those lows that occurred in late July, but I did buy and sell more in my long term retirement accounts, Roth IRA, to make it more software data center chip oriented. In August, I need to repeat. Pick 1 or 2 stocks to make gains, using the same 3000 in the retirement accounts.
I really should have planned to withdraw early my Traditional IRA over 2 adjacent years. So I can manage it myself. But I should have done half of it in 2024 and then rest in 2025. I did 2 withdrawals, timing the stocks/funds, but all in the same 2025 year.
I spent some time making charts with META Ai to see if visuals actually help 'sell' the benefit of stoozing, or living off credit cards runway business model.

iHerb vitamin purchases
Weight Gain - I want to reduce cooking, eat whatever for a while and chemistry and logistics is at zenith.
Multi vitamin - VitC, VitE, VitB particularly.
Iron - I was told waaay back as a child, a little anemic
Magnesium Glycinate - better stools
Ashwagandha, just a guess, it was cheap and I definitely believe in natural things. I can almost guarantee eating shrimp is a natural aphrodisiac, libido enhancer and sexual stimulant, that usually just senses the next day.
Glucosamine, Chondroitin, MSM plus Hyaluronic Acid - knee health,

Quercetin - knee health
Omega-3 Premium Fish Oil - knee health
Spirulina - knee health

July 31, 2026. Total unrealized Gains == 33272 - 4541 == 28731
total Debt == 23309

This is not financial advice, just my personal research, opinions and reports to see if my strategy is understandable and get to know my own picks and data better. This post took about 5 hours to make.

Below is example prototype of stoozing, runway concept, using free MetaAi to make python script that generates a graph.
